SAWANGSA seeks to strengthen Civic Education as a dynamic and strategic academic field that bridges theory, policy, and practice in addressing contemporary citizenship challenges, including digital transformation, ecological sustainability, and social justice.


Journal Mission

To achieve this vision, SAWANGSA is committed to:

  • Advancing theoretical and analytical frameworks in integrated civic and citizenship education that illuminate the relationships among civic values, pedagogical practices, and citizen behavior in sustainable development contexts.
  • Publishing high-quality empirical research and policy analyses that examine the design, implementation, and evaluation of civic education curricula and instructional models across diverse educational settings.
  • Promoting interdisciplinary and integrative scholarly dialogue among researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to enhance civic literacy, public accountability, and evidence-informed decision-making.

Journal Scope

SAWANGSA publishes theoretical, empirical, and conceptual contributions in civic and citizenship education, with a particular emphasis on interdisciplinary integration and its implications for sustainable societies. The journal welcomes studies that provide rigorous insights into the design, implementation, and institutionalization of civic values through educational processes.
